Kalachars’s journey began in the year 1985 when our founder Thiru V. P. Arumugam started a small weaving unit with 3 handlooms in 500 sq. ft. space in Velampalayam, a small village in Tiruppur district. He named his business ARV Chithra Fabrics and initially manufactured towels on a small scale. Inspired by our country’s rich and diverse textile heritage, Arumugam developed a passion for promoting the ethnic wear of our nation.
What started as a small family business gradually grew into an exclusive brand for Indian ethnic wear, manufacturing its own products in a factory that spans 2 acres. Today, we are an ISO 9001:2005 certified company offering a wide range of ethnic wear with 300+ designs for men, women, and children. We employ more than 75 weavers, most of them with around 3 decades of weaving expertise. To serve a much larger audience we shifted from handloom to power loom, and now we have 96 power looms operating round-the-clock.
